Spiral Jet Mill

The Spiral Jet Mill is classic ultrafine grinding equipment for ATH deep processing. Driven by high-pressure airflow, it crushes pre-ground ATH powder and dried ATH filter cake to 1250–3000 mesh. Low operation cost and stable running make it ideal for small & medium ATH production lines supplying coatings, rubber and general plastic flame retardant fillers. Wear-resistant ceramic lining prevents iron pollution; it can connect with turbo flash dryer and surface modification machine to form a complete full dry-process ATH processing line.

How It Works

Technical breakdown of the core processes and technology behind Spiral Jet Mill.

High-pressure compressed air is injected tangentially into the spiral annular crushing chamber through multiple nozzles, forming a high-speed spiral circulating airflow. Pre-ground fine ATH powder is sent into the crushing cavity via a feeding screw, and instantly accelerated by spiral high-speed air flow. ATH particles circulate along the spiral track at ultra-high speed, producing intense collision, mutual friction and shear between particles, so ATH agglomerates and mineral monomers are fully crushed and dissociated.

Fine ATH powder with qualified fineness is carried out of the spiral chamber by the central upward airflow and sent to the air classifier for screening; coarse ATH particles with unqualified granularity continue to circulate and grind along the spiral cavity until reaching the required fineness. The whole grinding process relies entirely on collision between ATH particles without grinding media, which effectively avoids metal cross-contamination for ATH flame retardant filler production.
